Dr.Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan., MDS, MS (Toronto), MDP (Harvard), phd
Professor & Director of Academics, SIMATS

Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy has authored and published two editions of the bestselling “Textbook of Prosthodontics” which is considered the definitive textbook for prosthodontics by clinicians across the country. He completed his Masters program in Prosthodontics (MS. Prosthodontics) in the University of Toronto, Canada during which time he served as a Clinical Demonstrator and awarded the ‘Best teacher’ and ‘Most Motivating Teacher’ awards by the University of Toronto. He is an avid researcher with a keen, analytic mind which has helped him design and guide a variety of research projects with his team. He has over 50 research papers in his academic portfolio. He has also completed the Management Development Program in Harvard University, Boston, USA. He has singlehandedly spearheaded the implementation of sophisticated devices such as CADCAM machines and 3D printer in the Department of Prosthodontics in Saveetha Dental College to aid in research and to develop newer and more efficient protocols for treating patients. His clinical interest is “Prosthognathics”, a combination of Orthognathic surgery and Prosthodontic techniques to manage Full Arch restorations cases with Aesthetic deficiencies. He is also known for his prowess in advancing Dental Education through the implementation of MILA (Multiple interactive learning algorithm) in Saveetha Dental College, for which he was awarded the ‘Best Pioneer in Dental Education’ in the World Dental Congress held in London in April 2017.

Dr.V.Ashok obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from TN.Dr.MGR.Medical University in 1997. He pursued his masters in Prosthodontics and Implantology from Saveetha University in 2009. He is a Fellow in International Congress of Oral Implantology. He got his Diplomate from International Congress of Oral Implantology (USA) in 2013. He is a research scholar in the field of bone regeneration.He is a Member of Indian Dental Association, Indian Prosthodontic Society, Indian Society of Dental Research, Implant Prosthetic Section of International Congress of Oral Implantology. He got extensive training both in root form implants and basal implants as well.His research and scholarly articles have also been published in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Thiyaneswaran Nesappan completed his BDS and MDS from Saveetha University and at present heads Implantology Department at Saveetha Dental College and is also the Associate Dean of Faculty. He has received the Fellowship and Diplomate from ICOI He has multiple national and international publications and awards to his name. His constant hardwork and commitment has led to an gigantic milestone for the institution which recently recorded 10000 implants placed at the department.

Dr. Padma Ariga is currently Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, Saveetha Dental College with an experience of about 19 years in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. She graduated from Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and went to United Kingdom as an observer in restorative dentistry in Leeds Dental Institute, Leeds. She received her Masters in Prosthodontics from Saveetha Dental College (1999). Areas of interest and specialisation include Full mouth rehabilitation, Implantology and Obstructive sleep apnea. She has presented several papers, guest lectures in multiple conferences and has been a national and international examiner. She had been the management representative for ISO 9001-2000 quality assurance for Saveetha Dental College and has several publications in peer reviewed journals. She has also contributed chapters to textbooks in prosthodontics She has been in private practice in a multi speciality hospital for several years.

Dr. Suresh V. graduated from AB Shetty dental college, Mangalore and completed his post graduation from SDM dental college, Dharwad. Since 2009 he is associated with Saveetha dental college, Chennai and  has close to 65 publications to his credit. His field of interest include core Fixed & Removable Prosthodontics, Digital Occlusal analysis using the T-Scan suite and Recent advances in implant dentistry. He has contributed towards dental research field in the direction of bone regeneration, 3D printing and animal studies. He also has shown a greater inclination towards innovative instruments and materials which could help in easing clinical patient care. He is also the Head of our Occlusal Calibration Centre, which optimises occlusion using T-Scan, Joint vibration analysis and Jaw tracking devices (JT-3D). He has filed patents, received best faculty awards and has been tirelessly guiding both undergraduates and postgraduates in achieving their clinical acumen and understanding the science of rehabilitation.

Dr. Vinay Sivaswamy graduated from Saveetha DentalCollege after majoring in the field of Prosthodontics & Implantology. Hecurrently holds the post of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Prosthodontics as part of the teaching faculty in Saveetha Dental College, Chennai. His fields of interest in dental prosthetics include implant restorations, technical procedures using the biogenics concept, dental articulator designs and attachment retained prostheses. A quest for achieving the best in removable prosthetics led him to master the BPS system of removable prostheses for which he has been certified by ICDE, Ivoclar, Schaan. His primary interest in dentistry include complete dentures, implant restorations, articulator designs and dental photography. His passion for this particular speciality began with a desire to sculpt perfect smiles suited to each individual, from every age. When there are no teeth to be replaced or smiles to be fixed, you can find him reading, gaming or making conceptual illustrations. A budding photographer, his interest in landscape photography arose during his academic program when he started documenting his cases. His technophilia has led him to adopt mirrorless cameras as his primary medium for photography as well as free-lance consultations on electronic gadgetry.

Dr. Kiran Kumar Pandurangan graduated in dental surgery from Rajah Muthiah Dental College, Annamalai University in the year of 2011 and pursued his Master in dental surgery (M.D.S) in Prosthodontics, Implantology and Maxillofacial Prosthetics from Saveetha Dental College, Saveetha University in 2016. He attained the foremost in removable prosthetics led him to master the BPS specialist of removable prosthesis Certification from ICDE, Ivoclar vivadent, Schaan, Liechtenstein. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics in Saveetha Dental College, Chennai and guided more than 60 research projects for undergraduates and post graduates. Dr. Revathi Duraisamy, an implantologist and Prosthodontist by profession, has around 12 years of experience in the field of dentistry. She has completed her BDS and MDS both from Ragas Dental College TNMGR Medical university, Guindy. At Saveetha, she is currently working as assistant Professor and handles academic pedagogy to undergraduate dental students. She also focussing in guiding students for research methodology. Dr. S. Neeharika has completed her under graduation from Narayana Dental College, Nellore in the year. She was also a gold medalist in her post graduation in the department of prosthodontics including Crown & Bridge and Implantology from C.K.S.Theja Institute of dental sciences and research, Tirupati. She worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Prosthodontics at Thai Moogambigai Dental College, Chennai and SRM Dental college,  Ramapuram, Chennai from 2017 till 2021. She is currently working as assistant professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Saveetha Dental College, Chennai. Dr. Ashok K. Sundramoorthy, M.Sc., MPhil., PhD.

Dr. Ashok had completed his PhD in the field of Electrochemistry from National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan and Post graduate degree in Analytical Chemistry from University of Madras. He is actively working on various government funded research projects dedicated to chemical and biosensor fabrication for biomedical analysis, environmental and food quality monitoring. He has published more than 110 research articles in highly reputed international science journals. Dr. Ashok has edited two books in the series of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. He has received three USA patents and one Indian patent for his developed technology. Dr. Ashok has received Early Career Research Award Grant, International Indo-Russia Project Grant and CRG Grant (Total: 84 Lakhs) from SERB and Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Dr. Ashok is serving as associate editor for various journals. Dr. Durairaj Sekhar , M.Sc, Ph.D

Dr. Durairaj Sekar received a doctoral degree in the field of biological sciences from the University of Camerino, Italy. He was awarded a doctoral fellowship from the Ministry of Italian Government and the University of Camerino, Italy (2008-2011).  After that, he worked as a post-doctoral research scientist at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB, UN), Cape Town, South Africa, from 2011-2013). He published notable scientific research and review articles in many peer reviewed high impact international journals, including the Nature group of journals.  He received two Extramural Research grants from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and one core grant from the Department of Science and Technology (DST). His research interests are Non-coding RNAs/microRNAs biology and their regulation in non- communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes, and various types of cancer. Currently, he is serving as an editor for peer-reviewed journals and as a peer reviewer for nature group journals. There have been 71 articles published in SCI- indexed journals. Dr. P. Sivaperumal has more than 10 years of experience in the field of Marine Biomedical and Environmental Toxicological research. He has completed a Ph.D. in the field of Marine Science. He is the Principal Investigator for TARE Project from SERB-DST, New Delhi (on going) and Startup grant Project from UGC, Govt. of India (On-going). He is involved in collaborative research work with the National Institutes of NIOT, Chennai,
IIT-Madras, CIFE-Mumbai and BARC-Mumbai. He has published more than 50 research papers in Peer-reviewed Journal with more than 400 citations and h-index of 13 and i10 index of 17. He has published more than 10 Book chapters in Wiley, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis Publishers. He received the Research Fellowship from BRNS-DAE, Govt. of India.

After completing his doctoral degree, he continued his research career as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Jeonbuk National University, South Korea (Nov 2010 – July 2012), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia (June 2013 - Aug 2016), and South China Normal University, PR China (Mar 2017 – January 2022). He has more than 12 years of teaching/research experience, and published nearly 60 articles with a cumulative impact factor of 440. He served as a Managing Guest Editor for several special issues in various reputed ISI/SCI journals, including Environmental Pollution, Science of the Total Environment, Chemosphere, Current Opinion in Environmental Science & Health, and Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering. He received Young Talent start-up research grant 2,00,000 RMB (approximately 23,00,000 INR) from SCNU-Guangdong Province join projects to elucidate the nanomaterial’s formation mechanism.

Dr. Rajalakshmanan Eswaramoorthy has more than 15 years of Teaching and Research Experience in Advanced biomaterials and stem cells based musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering. He has completed his Postdoctoral fellowship training in various reputed institutes such as University of California, Davis, USA, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, and Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan. He published more than 40 research and review articles in reputed international journals and 3 book chapters related to biomaterials and stem cells based tissue engineering.  He holds more than 12 issued international patents (USPTO, EU, and Taiwan). He delivered invited and guest lecturers in many International and National conference and seminars. He is an Academic editor of Biomedical Research International- Dentistry (Impact Factor: 3.4) and Journal of Nanomaterial (Impact Factor 2.9) Hindawi. Dr. Sathish Kumar Ramachandran pursued his Ph.D. from the NIT Trichy in 2020. His doctorate research was an DST sponsored project in Development of Biofouling resistant polymeric membranes. He is a strong hand in Polymer Science, Polymer modifications, Biopolymeric composites, Polymeric nanomaterial synthesis, Thin film membranes fabrication and Environmental Engineering. He has been working on Quorum Quenching mediated biofouling of polymeric membranes and its control strategies with quorum quenching natural compounds. He has over 10 publications in peer reviewed scientific journals and 2 book chapters in biofouling and biofilm. He has also presented papers at various International and National Conferences. During his tenure as an Research Associate in NIT Trichy, his research team received Carbon Zero challenge start-up grant of Rs. 5,00,000/- from IIT-Madras to fabricate the membrane distillation module.

His h-index and i10-index is 12 with overall 492 citations. He is the life member in Society for Biotechnologists (India) (SBTI). He also presented research papers in national and international

Dr. Saravanan Sekaran is specialized in the field of Biomaterials, Stem cells and Bone Tissue Engineering. His current research focus is on fabrication scaffolds, hydrogels and implant materials for bone tissue repair and regeneration. He is also very much interested in delineating the molecular mechanism(s) behind the role of various plant based pharmacological agents, magnetism, and geometry on osteoblast differentiation of stem cells. He has authored 60 publications in international journals, contributed two training manuals and three book chapters. At an early stage of his career, his publications have been cited 3386 times and possess an h-index of 27. He has procured research grants from both Indian and International funding agencies. He is also the recipient of Arnold Naimark Young Investigator Award- SBRC, and Young Investigator Award, Canada. He has various other national awards and has filed six patents to IPR, INDIA

Dr. Chitra, completed her M. Sc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, securing a gold medal and was awarded with INSPIRE fellowship from Department of Science and Technology (DST) for her Ph.D. program at National centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology University of Madras. Areas of Specialization in Research includes Bio-ceramics for Biomedical Application, Bioactive materials for orthopedic and dental applications, as well as Nano-structured Biomaterials for Bone-tissue engineering. Research Interests comprises of design and synthesis of Nano biomaterials including Bioglass, Hydroxyapatite, Tricalcium Phosphate, and different nano metal oxides including copper, iron oxide, Zinc oxide, Titanium oxide, Aluminum and Zirconium Oxide compounds. Dr. Chitra is familiar with In-vitro evaluations of Biomaterials, Fabrication of thin films and nano-fibers of metal oxides
using spin coating and electrospinning technique and has profound experience in wet chemical techniques for design and tuning various nanostructured materials.
